How To Share Your SkyDrive Files As Read-Only

Sometimes the need arises to have someone be able to view a document but not be able to edit it.

SHARE YOUR SKYDRIVE FILES AS READ-ONLY

Head over to the SkyDrive website and login to your Windows Live account.

Then navigate to the file you want to share, right click on it and choose Sharing from the context menu.

When the Sharing dialog opens, change over to the get a link section on the left hand side of the dialog then click on the first Create button on the right hand side. This will create a read-only link that you can share with people.

When the person you shared the file with puts the link into their browser they will only be able to download the file or view it online if it is a supported file type.
