Acer has unveiled a new range of gaming notebooks in their Predator line called the Helios 300. These notebooks are available in 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch variants and were unveiled at the company’s next@acer event in New York.
The laptops come with an overclockable Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 or GTX 1050Ti graphics card (GP). You also get to choose between two CPUs, the Intel Core i7 7700HQ or the Intel Core i5 7300HQ. Up to 32 GB DDR4 RAM is supported and the laptops include a Sata SSD as well as a 1 TB HDD.
Acer says that the devices include a USB 3.1 Type-C port, a USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports and an HDMI 2.0 port. An ethernet port and Wi-Fi 802.11ac is also supported.
As mentioned earlier, you can opt for either a 15.6-inch or 17.3-inch display. Both support Full HD resolutions (1920×1080 pixel) and are IPS panels. Dolby has provided the audio solution.
The laptop configurations will vary by region, so don’t expect Nigeria to get the same configuration as was launched in the US.
Official US prices start at $1,299 (around #389,700) for the 15.6-inch model and $1,399 (around #419,700) for the 17.3-inch model.
Products with similar specifications in Nigeria cost around #500,100 so until Nigeria prices are confirmed, don’t get your hopes up.
The devices will launch in July in the US.
